The answers are in the things you are avoiding.

There are things that weigh heavily on your mind, yet you avoid them like the plague. They keep you up at night as you ruminate and imagine the worst-case scenario.
The difficult conversation you keep putting off.
The toxic job you know you should leave.
The relationship that has run its course.
The apology you should make.
The boundary you're afraid to set.
The debt you're afraid to look at.
The mistake you're terrified to admit.
The question you're scared to ask because you already know the answer.
You avoid it because you're afraid of rocking the boat.
Afraid of rejection.
Afraid of confrontation.
Afraid of risk.
Afraid of change.
So you stay in your comfort zone, where there’s no uncertainty. Everything is familiar, and you know exactly how it will play out. But the things you know you need to address don’t go away. They fester beneath the surface. Resentment bubbles, builds, and threatens to explode. You lash out at loved ones. You start to drink too much. You numb yourself with your phone. You stop recognizing yourself.
As a saying often attributed to Carl Jung goes, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate.”
Before you know it, you’ve spent decades in a marriage you knew wasn’t right, and now you have children.
Or you’re stuck in a job that pays too well to leave.
Or you wake up one day and realize you've lived someone else's life, not your own.
Or you've said "it's too late" so many times that you've started to believe it.
What is denied does not disappear. It becomes uncontrollable. It grows in the dark until you finally do something about it.
